A Test

  • Aug. 31st, 2007 at 4:28 PM
YUM!
The past two weeks seem to have been a test of my nerves and patience. I'm not real sure I'm passing. Grace is back today, and Mark isn't here, so she is still producing. Needless to say, I don't have a good feeling about that. And my solace... having a long weekend and enjoying the pool... seems to be going to pot since it's supposed to rain all weekend. Oh well, at least I don't have to work.

There's not much else going on. There's some stuff brewing on the love front, but I'm really not sure what it is, so I don't want to talk about it right now. I'm still feeling rather shakey about it all.

Yeah... I need to go home now.

What Tarot Card Are You?

  • Aug. 31st, 2007 at 2:23 PM
YUM!

You are The Empress

Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation.

The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents,
beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home
decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful.

The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.

You'd Think

  • Aug. 30th, 2007 at 2:28 PM
YUM!
This week you'd think I'd fallen off the face of the earth. In all actuality, I've been running around like a chicken with my head cut off. I can't even remember what I last updated you on. I think it was Friday afternoon, after getting the estimate on my car, so I'll start there.

The weekend was relatively quiet. I lounged around, cooked one evening, read the pile of magazines that were piling up... That's about it. However, Jeanette, Mom's next door neighbor, got a new puppy. Well, it's not really a puppy, it's a year old. Anyone want to take a guess as to what she got? I'll give you a hint... it made me pout. *nods* She has a little chihuahua named Lucy. Lucy is the sweetest thing. Mom and I were visiting Jeanette on Saturday, and Lucy made herself at home on my chest and took a nice little nap. Jeanette swore I was going to try leaving with her. LOL It's just made me want a puppy all the more.

This week has been crazy on the work front, hence the lack in updates. A director from our sister station on Columbus, Ohio is down here. I've been giving him a basic training session on Ignite. they'll be getting the system next month. He's a nice enough guy, but extremely hyper, and he doesn't shut up. Right now I'm enjoying some quiet time while he's at lunch. I got graphics done in record time, so that's why I've got a few minutes to pop in here. :o) Anyway, he leaves sometime tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to. I'll be able to get back to normal here... somewhat. There are talks of me going up to Columbus to help them out at some point. Poo, maybe you could drive down and stay with me if that's the case. :oP The company will be paying for my hotel room, so you can just crash with me. I'll keep you updated.

Not a lot else is going on. I'm still waiting for the insurance company to complete its "investigation" of the accident, so my car is still damaged. I called on Tuesday to check on things. They told me that they're hoping by the end of this week I'll be able to set up something. That's tomorrow, which is a week after they received the estimate. If I haven't heard anything by Monday, they're hearing from me again. Jeanette thinks I need to get a lawyer. I don't think it's to that point, but if they push too long, I'll threaten to, even if I don't.

Oh... and as far as the producer from hell? I'm pretty sure she will be gone soon. She's called out yesterday and today, but I've got a feeling when she does come in she'll be told to leave.

Anyway, there's my life... Crazy as ever. I'm looking forward to a long weekend, since I've once more gotten out of working the MDA telethon. YAY! Can we say, "Pool!"? LOL

More Than Ready

  • Aug. 24th, 2007 at 4:21 PM
YUM!
I've got just a little under two hours left of work today, and I'm ready to run screaming from the building. It's just been an insane day. That is following an insane week. I'm just ready to get out of here. Hopefully I'll get to lounge around the pool a little bit either Saturday or Sunday. Otherwise, my only plan for the weekend is to do some writing.

This morning I went to get the estimate done on my car before work. The damage... $2,728.20. Nice, huh? It'll take five days for the work to be completed. All of that has been faxed to the dude's insurance, so now I'm just waiting to hear back from them so that I can get the ball rolling. I want my car back together!

There really isn't much else to say. My back and neck are bothering me, resulting in a headache. And I'm still having nightmares, but all of that will ease with time.

Don't plan on seeing much from me this weekend. My goal is to hide from the world. :oP

Hanging By A Thread

  • Aug. 23rd, 2007 at 12:05 PM
YUM!
This week has been busy and is following a busy weekend. Friday night was our farewell party to Keith. Then Saturday was bowling with Keith and a few others for a birthday party. After the party, he hit the road for Dallas. It was sad to see him go. Right now it still doesn't seem real that he's gone, but I know that he is.

Work Monday and Tuesday were jammed packed. I've stayed busy pretty much every moment. There've been spots of downtime, but not much. However, Grace hasn't been producing, so that has helped a great deal. Yesterday things took a turn, though.

I was heading for work. Actually, I hadn't even made it out of the parking lot at the apartment, and a taxi backed out of a space into the side of my car. I'm okay, and the car will be. The two passenger doors are probably going to have to be replaced, but the taxi driver is at fault and his insurance is taking care of it. The incident just really shook me up. It brought back a lot of memories of the wreck Mom and I were in a few years ago. I'm still a little shakey and driving to work this morning wasn't a pleasant experience. I'm here, though.

Anyway, that's about it. I'll leave you with a few pictures of my baby. :o( Hopefuly she'll be fixed soon.

One Life

  • Aug. 15th, 2007 at 3:09 PM
YUM!
I opened up LJ today to update and saw that I haven't updated in a week. That makes sense considering I was completely away from the computer until yesterday. In my mind I'd planned on updating sooner than this, though.

The weekend was an enjoyable one with Daddy and Aunt Nita in town. They arrived around 4:00 on Thursday and came down to the station with Mom to watch me direct the 5:00 newscast. We spent the evening in. Mom made burgers, I made an oriental salad, and we played Monopoly until after 2:00 in the morning. LOL Friday started with breakfast and a few hours in the pool. When we back to our apartments Daddy and Aunt Nita got ready to go down to an antique store. While they were gone, I showered and made dinner for everyone. It was another evening in with us playing Scattagories and Yatzee while listening to the Falcons/Jets game. (Jets Won!) It was early Saturday morning before we parted ways and headed to bed. It was shopping day Saturday. We had breakfast and then headed to the Riverfront Antique Mall and Flea Market over in North Augusta. The place is MASSIVE! Daddy got me four Danielle Steel books. All of them were hardback and in great condition. The total? Fifteen dollars... less than half the cover price of one book. :o) I also got a cute Eeyore glass and a cross-stitch to do, both of which were one dollar. Daddy bought himself several cat figurines and Mom some handpainted wine goblets. I think everything together cost a little over forty dollars... not bad considering what all he bought. After an afternoon of shopping, we went to dinner at Logan's followed by dessert at Bruster's. (Fresh Blackberry Ice Cream... YUM!)It was another night of games, that time Scrabble. For some reason I felt like crap on Sunday, but it was a rather quiet day. Daddy and Aunt Nita did some more shopping. Notice a trend? Mom made dinner, and then we played Domino's for awhile.

Daddy and Aunt Nita left Monday morning. The rest of the day I didn't do a whole lot. I went back to bed after they left. When I finally got up, Mom and I sat around watching the soaps before I went to take a shower. It was while I was washing my hair that I decided it REALLY needed cut. It had way too many split ends. So I went to get it cut. The length of my hair isn't greatly different. It's a little shorter, maybe a couple of inches. She added some layers to it, though. I'll tell you, it feels a whole lot lighter!

The work week so far, granted it's only been two days, has gone relatively well. After a HUGE blow up with Grace last week, where my show went to hell, she's being given until tomorrow to get her act together or she's out of a job. She did better yesterday. Today the show is looking a little iffy. We'll see if she pulls it together or not. The bad thing is, I won't know until I go to air and find out that she's messed stuff up.

I'm pretty sure that's about it for now. I took some adorable pictures of TJ this weekend that I need to download. Once I do, I'll share them. :o) He was "playing" Monopoly with us. LOL

Hell

  • Aug. 7th, 2007 at 10:39 PM
YUM!
Honestly... Lets talk about this. I like heat. I've wanted to live in the south for a long time because the thoughts of a year-round summer made me happy, but this is just flat out ridiculous. The weather down here right now isn't hot. This is hell! Yesterday the temperature peaked at 101 with the heat index some ungodly number above that. Today... Today we broke the record from 18-something or other and hit 104 with the heat index making it appear to be 114. Hello! That is just ridiculous. I left for work this morning a little before ten o'clock, and it was already in the 90's. If you even think of doing something outside you break out in a sweat. I sat outside long enough yesterday evening to pot a couple of plants, and I was dripping within five minutes.

In other news, there really isn't much news. My producer actually did better today. She's still driving me crazy and is still forgetting things that I've been telling her about since day one, but... It was better, for what it's worth. On the home front, I continue getting ready for Daddy and Aunt Nita to arrive on Thursday. This evening I cleaned my apartment, so that's all good. Tomorrow night I'm going to work on prepping stuff for the meals I'm making. Otherwise I'm in pretty good shape. We really don't have any plans for this weekend. As of right now the talk seems to be leading us to the pool. I won't complain. A weekend of lounging around and getting some sun works for me.

The story that I talked about not knowing how to end is nearing completion. It seems to be one of those never ending chapters now that I actually started writing it. I never intended for it to keep going like this, but... Oh well. I'm hoping to finish it tomorrow and post it. I've got some ideas for other stories I'm working on, which I would like to write. The problem is, my muse keeps running out to play basketball, so the only time he is working for me is when he's benched. It's creating a slight problem. Hopefully his game will be over soon, and he'll come back to me full time.

Facing The Great...

  • Aug. 6th, 2007 at 4:24 PM
YUM!
Well, I can't say that it's the unknown, because I know what I'm going to face. I'm facing another day in which my producer ignores all of the help and advice given to her, which means my show will be hell to direct. I guess if I can't count on things being done correctly, I can count on having to clean up a mess.

The weekend was pretty nice. It was quiet. Friday evening Mom and I went to TGIFriday's for dinner. We decided to skip grocery shopping for the evening. I was just flat out exhausted and didn't feel like going. So, Saturday we headed to the pool in the morning for a few hours. After a nice swim, I took a nap before showering so that we could go to the store. That is ALWAYS an adventure. After spending WAY too much money, everything is bought for Daddy and Aunt Nita's visit. Trailing into Sunday, things continued to stay quiet. I watched the Nora Roberts movie marathon on Lifetime and ended up really pissed off at how much the changed Montana Sky from the book. Oh well... I ended up in bed earlier than usual last night, just as I had every night this weekend. My butt was just dragging. Apparently I needed sleep.

I've got a nice little to do list for this week in preparing for company. I'd like to do a lot of the chopping and all for the meals that I'm going to cook so that I don't have to do them on the actual day. It'll save time. Overall, I really don't have much cleaning to do. Just some dusting and vacuuming. That's a plus. :o)

For now I need to go and double check my show AGAIN to see what else is screwed up. Later!

Working For The Weekend

  • Aug. 3rd, 2007 at 3:06 PM
YUM!
I'm tired, my head hurts, my hands are killing me, and I just want to go home. That shouldn't be too much to ask. At least I wouldn't think it would be. This has been a long week, and I'm just ready for it to be over.

My new producer started actually producing this week. That's been... interesting... to say the least. Right now she is worrying too much about some things and not enough about other things that REALLY matter. She also doesn't listen when you try explaining things to her. It's making work as fun as ever.

Also this week, Keith announced that he has taken a job in Dallas. He'll be leaving August 17. Well, that's his last day at work. The news was a shock. He told me before it was formally announced because he didn't want me hearing from an email or anything. The news upset me more than I was expecting, although it didn't fully hit until I got home and told Mom.

My hands and wrists have been bothering me this week, to the point that the pains are shooting up into my shoulders. I know that it's the carpal tunnel and it's from how much I've been working on computers. The other night I took a pain pill to try to help. It didn't even touch the pain. Needless to say, it wasn't real easy to sleep that night. I couldn't find a comfortable way to place my arms.

There's really not much else going on. I've got about 3/4 of a chapter written that I need to finish. I also need to dust my apartment and all so that it can be ready for Daddy and Aunt Nita to arrive on Thursday. I'd like to get most of the cleaning, which really isn't much, done this weekend so that Wednesday night it's just a matter of vacuuming and making tea and all. Tonight Mom and I are doing the grocery shopping for it all.

So yeah... that's about it. It's Friday and today didn't arrive soon enough.

I'm Here... I'm Kickin'

  • Jul. 29th, 2007 at 4:19 PM
YUM!
It's been a quiet weekend, and I've quite enjoyed it. Friday night I didn't do anything. I got home from work, had dinner, napped, watched a little TV, and then went back to my place and read until the wee hours of the morning before going to bed. Yesterday was pretty much more of the same. I crawled out of bed around noon, had lunch with Mom, took a shower, read some of my book, took a nap... That was followed by coming down to Mom's, watching Princess Diaries 2, and eating dinner. It was a little after 11:00 when I went back to my apartment and sat up reading until 4:30 this morning.

I slept like shit last night, although I'm not sure why. I should've been tired, but I wasn't. In all honesty, I could've sat up reading even longer, but I forced myself into bed. This afternoon I finished my book and was quite pleased. It was a Nora Roberts book. So now I need to find what my next book is going to be. Lord knows I have plenty to choose from.

Right now I'm debating whether I'm going to try to work on the chapter I was writing or if I'm going to go upstairs, put some laundry in, find the comforter set that I'm loaning to Mom, and take a shower. I have a feeling that the latter is going to win. I do plan on writing some today, though. I've got a bunch of online reading I need to do as well of chapters people have written. I may end up printing them off tomorrow so that I can read them of an evening when I'm curled up and comfy, instead of at a computer. :oP

Tis all... No real point in this post. I just thought I'd drop by. :oP

Is There A Full Moon?

  • Jul. 27th, 2007 at 1:31 PM
YUM!
Anyone that knows me well knows that reptiles freak me out. Lizards, frogs, snakes... My sister gets a kick out of me running and screaming like a girl when I see a frog or one of those little lizards at the beach, as seen here...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

I was freaking out while taking the pictures of that little thing for my sister. Now, with that being said, our noon show was quite interesting today. We had people here from the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, South Carolina for the noon show interview. They, of course, brought animals with them. When I was told that I was thinking something cute and furry, right? WRONG!!! They brought one of these...

one of these...

and several of these...

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. That's a bearded dragon, a boa, and madagascar hissing cockroaches. *shivers thinking about it* Now... You want the shocking part of this? You ready? LOL I petted the lizard and the snake. You would've been quite proud of me. She tried to get me to hold the snake, but that wasn't going to happen in this lifetime! But yeah, I DID pet them, so that's something. LOL I told them next time I want something cute and furry. :oP

I'm more than ready to go home right now. Last night I got sucked into my book and went to bed later than I should've. Whoops! I'm just ready for the weekend. I want to enjoy the sun and pool tomorrow. I want to read. I want to write. Just a few more hours to go.

The factor that Jaime got voted off of SYTYCD last night didn't surprise me. I had a feeling she was going to go. Actually, I called all four that were in the bottom. Now, Kameron getting the boot kinda surprised me. I didn't quite see that one coming. The partners being divided up, though, goes to show what was keeping some out of the bottom while what was putting others in. Like obviously Lacey and Kameron were staying out of the bottom each week because of Lacey while Lauren and Neil were in the bottom because of Lauren. And I think Danny and Anya had been in the bottom because of Anya. So yeah... this is where it gets interesting. Sara is still my favorite female. And I think I'm divided between Neil and Pasha as my favorite guys, although Danny was sexy as hell doing the Samba. :oP

Here, There, and Everywhere

  • Jul. 26th, 2007 at 2:15 PM
YUM!
I'm in an insanely good mood today. There's no real reason for it. I'm just rather chipper today. It's odd because I sleep worth shit last night. Most of the night I was tossing and turning, and I kept getting hot. However, I DID have a dream about Backstreet's CD being released. LOL It was kinda weird. Each of the guys were doing CD signings on the release day in their respective cities. So Brian was in Atlanta and, of course, I went. I was the very first in line. The thing was, the guy in my dream didn't look like Brian. It was him, but... I dunno. He lad long hair and was taller. Yeah... odd.

Work has been relatively quiet today. I've accomplished a lot. All of my work is actually done right now, which is why I'm updating this. Although, I really don't have much to say right now. My mind is rather bouncy right now, and it goes from one thing to another rather quickly.

I'm greatly looking forward to the weekend. The pool is finally open again after some people snuck in and vandalized it. So, I'm hoping to get to go down to the pool this weekend. My tan is fading and could use some work. Otherwise, I just want to chill out, read, and maybe write some. I've got the final chapter of one of my stories that needs written. The problem is, I can't decide HOW it is going to end. LOL I've got three possible endings in mind, and I just don't know which way to go with it. What I might do is just open up the page and see what comes out. *shrugs* I'd really like to finish it.

Oh, and on SYTYCD... I think Sara is officially my favorite. I'm not sure what it is with her. When the season first started, I didn't think she would be, but I've come to enjoy her. The guys I'm still very much torn over, but I like Sara.

Hell Yeah!

Backstreet Boys Plot Comeback With October CD

July 25, 2007, 10:25 AM ET
Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.

After an extended break and the loss of original member Kevin Richardson, the Backstreet Boys will return Oct. 30 with their next, as-yet-untitled studio album for Jive Records. The first single, the piano-heavy rock ballad "Inconsolable," will hit U.S. radio outlets Aug. 27.

Richardson, who exited in June 2006, was not replaced in Backstreet Boys, which also features Brian Littrell, Howie Dorough and AJ McLean. The group is celebrating its 10th anniversary on Jive this year.

The new album is the follow-up to 2005's "Never Gone," which debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 747,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Among the collaborators are producers Rob Weiss and Dan Muckula.

While taking time away from Backstreet Boys, Littrell found success in the Christian music world with the 2006 album "Welcome Home" (Reunion). The project reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top Christian Albums chart.

Shall we all note that they forgot Nicky. LOL Whoops!

OH!

I remembered something I was going to post about. My raise has kicked in! It's not huge, not that I expected it to be, but, hey... It's something. Every little bit counts!

Tied Up With A Pretty Little Bow

  • Jul. 24th, 2007 at 1:47 PM
YUM!
My bad... It's been five days since my last update. LOL I never planned on waiting that long. I actually thought of posting several times, but nothing ever came of it. I guess that's because not much was going on. :oP Now you get a condensed review of the past few days.

Thursday was basically the same shit, just a different day. I was really feeling the need for the weekend. Things at work were just testing every last little bit of patience I had. So, after becoming increasingly annoyed, I decided to just work half a day on Friday. I figured I could use it.

So Friday started with the normal payday errands, and then I came to work four about five hours. It was a quiet day, and it went relatively quickly. There was a group here from Holland to look at the Ignite system. The one was really nice looking. All of the females in the room were drooling over him. LOL After work I went home... well, to Mom's. I ended up on the phone with Grandpa. I'll get into that more later. When I finally got off the phone with him, Mom and I went out to dinner at Logan's before coming home again. I napped. The evening wasn't real exciting. It was relaxing, though, which was much needed. I did a great deal of reading. After going home, I finished up my book around 5:00 Saturday morning before going to bed. LOL

Saturday was another quiet day. I really didn't do a whole lot. What I DID do was finally get all of my books alphabetized and put away. Now they are no longer sitting on the floor next to my bed, which is nice. It didn't take me nearly as long to accomplish that task as I thought it would. Once that was done, the rest of the evening was once more spent being a lazy slug. I think I finally went to bed around 4:00 Sunday morning, however... believe it or not... I didn't take a nap the entire day. Impressive, huh? LOL

Grocery shopping, the only shopping that I truly despise, was accomplished on Sunday after I finally rolled out of bed. That was my only accomplishment of the day, though. LOL I DID take a nap that day. I was tired, and I didn't feel the need to fight it. But yeah... it was a quiet evening, which was a good way to end the weekend. I like having quiet before getting started back at work.

Puppy is currently on some trip to some country with his parents, so he's not here this week. That's made me happy. It makes work peaceful. I don't have him sitting over my shoulder or asking stupid questions or interrupting conversations. I've missed that. I can just sit here and go about my business. There are some guys here from another station today. They're getting Ignite, so they're looking at our work flow, how we have stuff set up, all that good stuff. I'd really appreciate it if Scott would start giving me a heads up when these people are coming. I'm not sure where they are in the building right now, but they'll be back in a little bit.

In reference to my phone call with Grandpa the other day, apparently he is actually going to tell Sharon he wants a divorce. He's not just moving out. It kinda surprised Mom and me. I'm not sure if Daddy knows that one or not. Originally we just thought he was moving out into an apartment, but he is going to get a divorce. He seems more than ready for that from the way he sounded on the phone. He told me that he's going to let her keep the house and everything in it. He just wants a divorce. Plain and simple. He also said that it would be wise for her not to argue with his terms. We'll see what happens next. Sharon just had her second knee surgery. She should be back full force in about six weeks, and that is when he'll move out.

As horrible as it may sound, I'm happy that Grandpa is doing this. He's not happy. We all knew that he wouldn't be, but I guess he had to figure that out for himself. The boys are absolutely driving him crazy, as is Sharon. But I think the boys are a bigger part of it all.

I believe that ties up all the loose ends. I'm going to see about accomplishing some other things now. Later! :oP

Yeah...

YUM!
I know I've said this before, but really... The sound of guys sitting around spitting sunflower seeds... REALLY, REALLY annoying.

On a side note... I've noticed that I use this icon a great deal at work. LOL

Nerves Of Steel

YUM!
Last night my nerves literally stayed on end. Actually, it started around 3:00 yesterday afternoon, and it didn't get any better. I was anxious the whole time, nearing panic attacks a few times. It's been awhile since my nerves became that unbalanced. It made for a really long evening and an even longer night because I couldn't sleep for shit. I attempted to read before bed, figuring I could get my mind on something else, but I was even struggling to read. My mind kept drifting back to other things that would unnerve me.

Today has been a little bit better. I'm not quite as edgy as I was yesterday. So far the day has actually been relatively quiet. I'm getting odds and ends accomplished. Right now I'm ahead of the game on pretty much everything. I like it when that happens. Of course, that leaves me sitting here thinking about things I could be accomplishing at home if I weren't here. I know, I know... I need to breathe.

I've actually accomplished some writing, which has been nice. For awhile my muse seemed to be rock climbing in the foothills of Africa, but he's returned now. After posting the one chapter Monday night, I got started on a new chapter yesterday. It's pretty close to getting finished, and the awesome thing about that? I only have two parts left to this story before it's finished. Originally it was only going to be ten parts. It looks as though it's going to be along the lines of sixteen. Things got stretched out a little more than I originally planned, but that's okay. :o)

So that's about it. Life isn't real exciting. It's only Wednesday, and I feel like it should be so much later in the week than that. The weekend just isn't coming quick enough.

~ I wanted the perfect ending. Now I've learned, the hard way, that some poems don't rhyme, and some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the most of it without knowing what is going to happen next.
~ Our strength is often composed of the weaknesses we're damned if we're going to let show.
~ There is nothing like returning to a place that remains the same to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.

Then they put the box away and bring it out once in awhile to look in it, and, yep, they are still there. These are great dreams, but they never even get out of the box.
